With the change of seasons upon us, a Spring refresh in her workspace was on her to-do list. This space was originally a dining room, but she wanted to transform this room to serve a new purpose. "If you have the resources, use a design tool like Photoshop to create a mock-up of your current room," says Pyfrom.

The Befores…

“The home originally came with a black wrought iron light fixture. I absolutely wanted a wider crystal chandelier. I wanted it to be a focal point of the room, something you just couldn’t ignore.”

“I updated the light fixture to a chrome crystal chandelier that I still wasn’t satisfied with.”

Lexie wanted to keep minimal pieces that would serve the purpose of the space. “Your space can have a clean design, then add a glamorous light fixture, and the room becomes instantly dressed up without overdoing it. My personal preference is matching the decor and finishes of a light fixture to those of your room. For example, gold is heavily placed throughout my workspace and because of this, a gold light fixture was essential for me moving forward. I previously had a chrome chandelier in the space, even though it may not have driven others crazy, I sure noticed it. By having the light fixtures and room match in this way, the look of the room flowed much better.”

The Afters…

“My absolute favorite and I mean FAVORITE addition to the new space, is hands down, the GORGEOUS Maria Theresa chandelier by Crystorama. It is classic, timeless, and oh so glamorous”.

“The room looks so much better with the floral wallpaper as an accent wall, aligning with the computer table. You still get the romantic & elegant vibes with the space but you’re not overwhelmed by it.”

Hope you’ve enjoyed this room transformation and are inspired to update the room decor in your own home without a full reno! Lexie shares one last piece of advice when shopping for lighting.

“Before you buy, make sure you truly love the piece. I know this is hard when shopping online because items may differ in person but there are ways around this. Do your research, find the SKU number for the light fixture your eyeing and search for it in a general search engine. From there, look for reviews which usually will have more photos. Social media is another great way to find real life pictures of the light fixtures you’re eyeing. Just search the company’s Instagram and tagged photos.”
