An Eclectic Bedroom Retreat Reveal

For Tiffany's fifth One Room Challenge, she decided to refresh her master bedroom. "My inspiration started when I saw a blog post where the designer used small dressers as nightstands. I used that detail as my jumping-off point to designing my bedroom. I normally don't have a design plan as I like to let my rooms come together organically as I move along with the project. I wanted our main bedroom to be relaxing but in a chic hotel way. Our in-house getaway." says Tiffany.

Describe your design style

Tiffany's design style is very eclectic. "I love the retro-modern and glamorous look of Art Deco and the clean lines t you find with authentic Mid-century Modern design. However, I like to ground my spaces with a few fun yet "traditional" pieces."

Did you have any design challenges?

“My biggest challenge with this space was finding our bedside tables. I knew that I wanted something substantial and not small or low profile. I ended up finding not one pair, but three sets of tables. It was a storage nightmare! I still have one set sitting out in the garage.”

What was your lighting needs for the space?

I wanted sconces but didn't want to deal with the electrical work of installing them. I was so happy to find the Marshall wall sconce as they checked off all of my boxes:

1. Plug in

2. Modern/sleek design

3. Dimmable

4. Excellent quality

I love to say that “the fun is in the details,” and these sconces prove that to be true. I love the small and seemingly insignificant details like the cord cover with its lovely thin tubular design. Another detail I love about the design is the matte black color without a chalky finish. Some matte black finishes scratch or scuff easily however, these beauties look as pretty as the day I unboxed them.
