“My design style lends more to the coastal casual vibe. I incorporate some California coastal elements alongside those traditional pieces. It's a mixed blend of coastal styles, but I believe the marry of the two is beautiful, as I love some modern elements and being able to incorporate some antique pieces along the way gives a good balance.”
Ashley’s SPRING REFRESH TIPS
“If you are looking to renovate but are tight on budget, try to find pieces that you can transform. I have great luck hunting down pieces on Facebook Marketplace and turning those pieces into something new. By either stripping a piece down or giving it a fresh coat of paint, you can completely change its overall look.
Assess what you have and see what you can transform! Paint and thrift finds are always a great first step!
If I have to give one tip on lighting, it would be to make that investment. If you are going to make one purchase that will change a space, it would absolutely be lighting. It not only elevates the feel of a room, but it can also change the way the whole room feels. In my big family room, I had a French country chandelier that I thought was my style, ultimately not it at all, and I changed it out for the 12 light Rylee chandelier and the entire vibe of the room shifted. I was able to achieve that by simply switching out that one light.”
