All About Our Crystal: Cleaning, Quality and Cut

Knowledge is key to understanding the full value and genuine appreciation of a fine crystal chandelier. Crystal, a valued treasure, is part of history and legend. The Romans believed that the fire and sparkle in a crystal jewel reflected the flame and romance of constant love. In early central Europe, crystals were added to chandeliers to help increase the intensity of the candlelight as it reflected off the surface of the crystal. Crystorama’s crystal chandeliers grace historical palaces and museums throughout the world. Once reserved for royalty, crystal chandeliers can now grace your modern-day interiors.

Taking care of your chandeliers

Our chandeliers are designed to last a lifetime – and longer. No matter your budget, we understand that when you purchase lighting, you are making an investment in your home. Once you have installed your lighting in your home, it is important that you care for it properly.

We recommend using a damp chamois cloth or a feather duster to remove the dust from your chandeliers. Just add your lights to your weekly dusting routine.

To keep the crystals of your chandelier sparkling, we recommend non-abrasive crystal chandelier cleaner. Despite what you may read on the Internet, DO NOT clean crystal in a dishwasher. The finish on the metal clips used to attach the crystals to the frame will be ruined, and your crystals may be damaged.

Our chandeliers and lights do not require maintenance beyond regular, general cleaning. With proper care, your Crystorama chandelier will become tomorrow’s antique.

Check out our Crystal Guide for information on our Italian, hand cut and Swaravski options.

The sparkle and brilliance of the light refraction from the crystal accents continues to make these chandeliers a popular choice. Each fixture will become a family heirloom to love and treasure and pass on to future generations.
